Twig Furniture Twig furniture can take many forms and we have listed just some of the pieces that you can make when you take one of our twig classes.
| Twig Bench
The twig bench is approximately 3 feet long, 18" deep and 42" high. The seat is made out of recycled barn boards and all connections are made using pilot hole construction with treated deck screws. (Click on Twig Bench link for more info and picture.) |
| Twig Table Twig tables have many uses and have been configured as coffee tables, end tables, sofa tables, and corner tables. They also take many shapes, such as circles, squares, rectangles and triangles. They are built solidly enough to also serve as benches. (Click on Twig Table link for more info and picture. |
| Whimsical Twig Chair The Whimsical Twig chair lives up to its name. No two chairs will ever look alike because of the nature of the material being used to create them. Twigs take on a life of their own with their twists and turns and impart a unique design to each chair. (Click on Whimsical Twig Chair link for more info and picture.) |
| Bent Willow Chair The Bent Willow Chair will bring out the creative juices in the builder who will use the suppleness of the Sandbar Willow to add flowing curves to Nature's designs and end up with a smooth flowing chair that is uniquely theirs. (Click on Bent Willow Chair link for more info and picture. |
| Slab Garden Bench The Slab Garden Bench utilizes a three foot piece of log that is sawn in half for the bench. Legs are then attached using the tenon and mortise method and braces are added to the legs to ensure that the bench will last a long time. Students can then add a back rest to the bench and we have seen many creative designs utilizing barnboards, grape vines and whimsical, curving pieces of twigs. (Click on Slab Garden Bench link for more info and picture. |
| Garden Arbor Garden Arbors are the height (pun intended) of creativity in twig furniture building. The average height of arbors is 7 feet and with that much space to work with, our students have gotten extremely creative. WIdth of arbors varies, but they are generally 3 feet wide, just enough to accomodate a garden path . (Click on Garden Arbor link for more info and picture.) |
